How Does NyAwM Work?
1. Create YOUR ACCOUNT, signing up to participate in NyAwM (Not Your Average Writing Month).
2. Fill in your profile information. Click on "YOUR PROFILE" and you'll see options on the right:
a. Click Edit Profile, this will open a new page.
b. On this new window you'll see the following options:
c. Under the subheading "DISPLAY INFO", you can choose:
1. Your Display Name
2. Title
2. Author Image
d. PERSONAL INFO you can choose to store:
Your First and Last name
Writing Goal
Project Name
Wattpad username
Wattpad URL, and
Genre Preference.
Once you've updated your profile settings, it's time to TRACK your progress:
3. YOUR PROJECT is to track your progress
a. On November 1, begin writing your novel on your computer or with a pen and paper.
b. Write like crazy. When you're not noveling, look for blog posts and updated prompts to keep the creative juices flowing.
c. Update your word count throughout November.
1. Click on "Your Project" → "Set YOUR personalized goal"
2. Validate your word count. Click on "Your Project → "Word Count Calculator", and paste the full text of your novel in the Word Count Validator.
i. Keep Track of your daily words
ii. Check out the progress bar
*Remember to remove any personally identifying information such as full legal name, address, school, etc.*
